If your set has anything from Country to jazz fusion or anything in between, Cianan Reed is your call. Hailing from Franklin, Tennessee, he grew up surrounded by musicians from all across the country that moved to the greater Nashville area for its vibrant music scene. He started drum lessons in 2nd grade, and his interest blossomed in middle school when he entered his school’s concert band, joined his church youth band, attended the Nashville Jazz Workshop Summer Camps, and formed his own band with friends.

Cianan’s biggest drumming influences are Vinnie Colaiuta, David Garibaldi, and John Bonham. Whether it’s laying down the pocket with a country backbeat or chopping out on a fusion groove, his approach to drumming is to serve the style called for by the song. Cianan exemplifies flexibility and adaptability to genres and circumstances on the road and in the studio. 

Lately, Cianan has been on the road with Canaan Smith, Mason Ramsey, The Henry Cruz Band, and others across the country in places like the CMA Fest, the BOK Center, Gilley’s Saloon, and the Grisley Rose. Cianan’s drumming can be heard on the Henry Cruz Band’s latest single, Wake Up Mama. 

Cianan is currently attending Belmont university, finishing up his senior year as a commercial music major and a member of the top Jazz combo. He’ll be playing a cruise with Canaan Smith called “The Country Cruising” where acts like Trace Adkins, Clay Walker, and Locash will be sharing the stage. Cianan’s currently working on putting together his own original music featuring his abilities as a multi-instrumentalist.
